From clayton.mccarl at unf.edu Sat Jun 27 14:13:11 2020 From: clayton.mccarl at unf.edu (McCarl, Clayton) Date: Sat, 27 Jun 2020 18:13:11 +0000 Subject: [Adrela] Digital Methods panel update and LASA 2021 Message-ID: Dear all, Thanks to everyone who attended the panel "Digital Methods in the Colonial Latin American Studies Undergraduate Classroom" at the LASA Virtual Conference on May 16. If you weren't able to be there, we have posted links to the videos/slides on the Events page of the ADRELA website. As you may know, LASA has announced that the 2021 conference in Vancouver BC will be hybrid (or fully online again if an in-person event is not possible). We believe this is an opportunity for us to propose one or more ADRELA-sponsored panels without participants having to assume all of the expenses that can accompany in-person participation at LASA. If you are interested, please send us (clayton.mccarl at unf.edu and halperta at gmail.com) a 1-2 sentence description of what you would like to present by July 24. Any topic related to the use of digital tools in research related to the colonial period or nineteenth century is welcome. Based on the responses we get, we will form some draft panel proposals by topic and then ask participants to send their titles and abstracts (250 words max) by August 15. We will also ask participants to make sure their LASA membership is current by that date. The deadline to propose the panel(s) will be Sept. 7. Sincerely, Hannah Alpert-Abrams and Clayton McCarl -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
