*Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7 PM EST *

Disinformation. Trolling. Conspiracies. Social media pile-ons. Campus
intolerance. Divided by alternative facts, fake news, conspiracy theories,
and “cancel culture,” we're living in a time when truth itself is under
perpetual assault — from as far away as Russia and as close as our
cellphones.

According to one of the country’s most versatile and original writers on
government, public policy, and gay marriage, *Jonathan Rauch*, the solution
lies in "The Constitution of Knowledge:" the powerful network of
institutions and norms that seeks truth from the endless disagreement that
exists in a democracy.

In Thursday's virtual discussion, Rauch will share insights from his new
book, *The Constitution of Knowledge: A Defense of Truth* that meet the
challenges of our present moment head-on. Rauch is a senior fellow in the
Governance Studies program at the Brookings Institution, contributing
writer at *The Atlantic* and author of eight books.
