[UNF-DHI] Mark your calendars & Community Board nominations

Hi everyone and welcome back!

It's an exciting time to be part of DHI and there is an abundance of opportunity this year! We will be shaking up our sub-committees next month - please think about the areas where you would like to become more involved, including perhaps taking on a leadership position.

The Fall DHI Advisory Committee Meeting will take place on Friday, September 23rd at 3pm via Zoom. I will circulate the minutes from our Spring meeting with the agenda as that date draws closer.

  *   As usual, this will be an open meeting - please invite any faculty and students who might be interested in getting involved with DHI.
  *   We will announce opportunities for advancing DHI-affiliated projects and the development of our growing institute.
  *   Have a project you'd like to pitch or know folks with projects that might be DHI affiliated? Please send them my way!
  *   The Digital Projects Showcase will take place in person on Friday, November 4th at the UNF Galleries.
     *   Details and a call for abstracts will be circulated soon.

Community Advisory Board Update: At our Spring 2022 meeting, we voted to pass a proposal from the Outreach Subcommittee to create a Community Advisory Board for the UNF Digital Humanities Institute, beginning in Fall 2022. The board would consist of 8-12 members drawn from our partner organizations or the community. Board terms would be 3 years in length, with the possibility of renewing for a second term. Board members would be required to attend two meetings yearly -- the Fall Advisory Committee general meeting and a springtime meeting of the Community Advisory Board and would be encouraged to attend our Annual Digital Projects Showcase.

  *   We are now accepting nominations for Community Advisory Board Members. You can submit your nominations here: https://unf.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9nayg1MqHGHm5Dw
  *   The portal will remain open until September 15th at which point the current DHI Director will select 6-10 board members to begin serving in 2022-23 and 2-4 additional in 2023-24 to ensure staggered turn over.
