DHI will host colleagues from the University of Minnesota Duluth for a roundtable discussion on engaging the social sciences and the humanities to reflect, collaborate & create. Dr. Mitra Emad (Department of Studies in Justice, Culture, and Social Change at UMD) and Dr. David Syring (Anthropology Program) will discuss the concept and practice of participatory media and speak about two current projects: creating a fund supporting African heritage community members and facilitating storytelling at an annual Summit focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
