I wanted to let you know about two upcoming events that might interest you and your students.

On January 17, the Jacksonville Main Library is hosting two lectures on Florida cartography:
Uncharted Territory. FGCU Archivist Victoria Jones shares the ambitious project to digitize 10,000+ maps documenting Southwest Florida's ecological and social changes, plus their collaborations with environmental scientists.
Charting the Land of Flowers: 500 Years of Florida Maps. Rodney Kite-Powell traces Florida's dramatic transformation through historic maps from 1511 to present day.
