[UNF-DHI] Service-Learning Showcase from DHI

Hello everyone,

I hope you have been well since you last heard from me! I'm writing to see if you are leading, or have recently led, any classes in service-learning or other applied projects that you might want to have students feature at the upcoming Service-Learning Showcase.

This event will feature two guest speakers from Arizona State University to talk to students about leveraging their class projects to potential employers. Afterwards, students who are tabling their projects will have the opportunity to talk about their work with attendees. This is different from a poster presentation, and it is meant to help students practice explaining their work with only their artifacts in front of them (as they might during a job interview). Students not tabling a projects are also encouraged to attend so that they can learn from the guest speakers and listen to other students.

The event will take place on the last Thursday of the semester (April 24th) from 3:00-5:00 in the Talon Room, and light snacks and refreshments will be provided. The flyer is attached here, which I will share more widely again after student projects are confirmed.

If you're interested in having students table a project, please email me by the end of next week (March 14th) so that I can put together a list of projects.

If you know of another professor who might be interested in inviting their students/class, please feel free to forward this email to them!
