<span style="font-size:16.0pt">The story of French Fort Caroline (1564-65) and the ensuing imperial clash over La Florida has long been told exclusively through French and Spanish colonial perspectives. Public and scholarly historians alike have erased the
Timucua-speaking Mocamas. But this clash occurred in and over Mocama homelands, and Mocamas determined the outcome. Using archaeological, ethnohistorical, and Native American and Indigenous Studies methods, this project tells the Mocama history of Fort Caroline
and makes that accessible to a broad public through a forthcoming digital humanities project: a digital Mocama walking tour of Fort Caroline to be released in early May.</span></p>
