Welcome back to what promises to be another amazing semester at UNF. This email serves as a quick reminder to everyone about some of the upcoming events for the Spring Semester.
Sustainability Committee Communications Subcommittee Meeting

The UNF Sustainability Committee's Communications Subcommittee will be meeting Tuesday January 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Environmental Center building 1/2200. The Communication Subcommittee is in charge of creating a sustainability web page for UNF. The subcommittee is trying to reach out to the UNF community and inform them of events, programs and sustainable initiatives on campus. This page will be somewhat different than the current Environmental Center webpage, because it will focus exclusively on sustainability on campus. This is an important task for the center, because most of the leading sustainable colleges have an sustainability resource for their campus communities. 2012 Recyclemania Competition
Recyclemania is an ongoing, 10-week long, friendly competition between colleges and universities nationwide. UNF is registered in the Waste Minimization category, which encourages overall waste reduction, not just increasing recycling. The goal of Recyclemania is to motivate the campus community to reduce wasteful practices and improve recycling behaviors. The event will take place January 16th through April 4th. Each housing complex will have a large recycle bin container and volunteers are needed to help weigh recycled containers twice a week.

Last year's winners, The Villages, received a pizza party and a revolving plaque to commemorate their outstanding achievement in sustainability. Who will this year's winners be?
