1. The EESI has published a handy timeline of past and planned EPA actions on greenhouse gasses. https://webaccess.unf.edu/owa/?ae=Item&a=Open&t=IPM.Note&id=RgAAAADNZjZhnefSEYPmACBIQBfrBwDPt7iSQ3%2fSEYPcACBIQBfrAAAAzUBFAABfZaOSZit4RZ9N09oFeAnvAPlFzCKtAAAJ

2. Excavated salt domes in Utah will provide compressed air power storage for a 2,100 megawatt wind project in Wyoming to supply power to California. http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_26593057/wyoming-wind-farm-energy-would-go-l The salt domes will be excavated by flushing, a process already used by the fossil fuel industry. (The stories differ on the number of domes planned—three or four.) http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_WIND_FARM_LOS_ANGELES_POWER?SITE=TXDAM&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT These stories update one I ran on 8/19, emphasizing the fossil lobby’s efforts to prevent the power being used locally. http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2014/08/11/3469826/wind-farm-wyoming-carbon-county/?elq=~~eloqua..type--emailfield..syntax--recipientid~~&elqCampaignId=~~eloqua..type--campaign..campaignid--0..fieldname--id~~

3. The US is releasing technological data and tools, including high resolution elevation measurements, to assist other nations in planning for climate disruption. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/09/140924-climate-change-mapping-data-resilience-environment-science/

4. 47% of the UK’s carbon emissions arise from construction. That can be cut drastically by use of hemp-lime and wood construction, capable of producing lowrise buildings with near zero energy needs while having a small (even negative) carbon footprint themselves. (It is illegal to grow hemp in the US; ours is imported from Canada.) http://www.theguardian.com/sustainable-business/2014/sep/25/hemp-wood-fibre-construction-climate-change

5. South Australia has set a target of 50% renewable energy by 2025. Their old target was 33%, which they have already met. They are relying on the conversion to renewables to support employment and economic growth. http://reneweconomy.com.au/2014/south-australia-sets-50-renewable-energy-target-for-2025-2020

6. The New York Declaration on Forests, if carried out, would cut carbon emissions by an amount equal to the US total, or all the cars in the world. http://grist.org/food/cargill-promises-to-stop-chopping-down-rainforests-this-is-huge/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Daily%2520Sept%252025&utm_campaign=daily

7. A new report by the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group outlines a plan for cutting carbon emissions by billions of tons with no national direction. The reductions would be significant on the scale of the Declaration on Forests in the pervious item. http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2014/09/25/3571894/c40-cities-climate-report/?elq=~~eloqua..type--emailfield..syntax--recipientid~~&elqCampaignId=~~eloqua..type--campaign..campaignid--0..fieldname--id~~

8. Kathy Jitnil-Kijner, of the most endangered nation on earth, brought the UN Climate Summit to tears with her poem for her daughter. http://www.smh.com.au/environment/climate-change/poet-brings-world-leaders-to-tears-at-un-climate-summit-20140925-10lq5x.html
