1. Deutsche Bank projects that in the next three years solar energy will move beyond subsidies and become the dominant growth area of the global energy supply. In that time, "economics will overtake politics." http://reneweconomy.com.au/2015/carbon-crash-solar-dawn-deutsche-bank-on-why-solar-has-already-won-51105

2. Naomi Oreskes and Eric Conway's book Merchants of Doubt on the climate propaganda industry has been made into a documentary which releases March 13. http://www.vice.com/read/merchants-of-doubt-turns-climate-change-denial-on-its-head-303
The Guardian sketches the history of climate propaganda campaigns. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/planet-oz/2015/mar/05/doubt-over-climate-science-is-a-product-with-an-industry-behind-it

3. HBO's VICE News did a special on the prospect of sea level rise, Our Rising Oceans. Here's a five minute teaser. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEiETD8HKZA One piece of news in the special is that the US NE coast is likely to see an unusually high rise from the Antarctic. https://news.vice.com/article/antarcticas-melting-ice-sheets-might-bring-more-sea-level-rise-to-the-us-than-anywhere-else

4. The Guardian begins a new series on climate by acknowledging that it is a tough topic for media. They hope to counter with a simple, intelligible message: leave fossil fuels in the ground. They will emphasize paths of effective action, and attempt to appeal to the right as well as the left. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/mar/06/climate-activism-doomed-left-only-issue The new series will run Fridays and avoid the usual coverage of corporate propaganda as it looks at serious proposals for action and the arguments of those who oppose them. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/mar/06/climate-change-guardian-threat-to-earth-alan-rusbridger
The first installment features material from Naomi Klein's This Changes Everything. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/mar/06/dont-look-away-now-the-climate-crisis-needs-you

5. As we reach and surpass 400 ppm of CO2, we are at concentrations not experienced for 23 million years. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/co2-levels-for-february-eclipsed-prehistoric-highs/

6. The Aqueduct Global Flood Organizer, developed by the World Resources Institute and several Dutch research groups, allows analysis of coming flooding risk, particularly at larger scales where flooding in one region can influence flooding in another. The numbers of people suffering river flooding is expected to double by 2030-before sea level rise is factored in. A study including sea level rise is in progress. http://www.eenews.net/stories/1060014522
