1. Scientists funded by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation have devised a plan to limit warming to 1.5C through renewable energy, energy efficiency, and land use changes. Heat energy can be used to convert a newly developed liquid to an isomer which preserves the heat for up to 18 years in its chemical bonds, releasing it to a catalyst when needed—say, to heat a house in winter.
