1. WJCT, North Florida’s Public Radio station, has launched the website ADAPT to carry stories relating to the region’s adaptation to sea level rise. https://adaptflorida.org/?contact-form-id=993&contact-form-sent=1862&contact-form-hash=28d840f258a30bed4ea2c024a8df316a6f68b4f2&_wpnonce=53acd35724#contact-form-993

Northeast Florida adapts to sea level rise.

So far there have been no significant stories I have noticed on the two completed vulnerability assessments in the region—of St. Augustine and Atlantic Beach—and their implications.

2. Climate professionals describe how they have changed their habits as climate activists. Some are familiar (go to a plant-based diet) and some are new to me (cut new clothing acquisitions to three a year). Two links at the end of the article will allow you to estimate your carbon footprint and the impact of various actions. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2019/jun/29/no-flights-four-day-week-climate-scientists-home-save-planet

Month after month, there is research showing that climate change is happening faster than we thought. We’re in a car hurtling towards the edge of a cliff, we’ve got our foot on the accelerator ...

3. Los Angeles is about to enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement for 400 megawatts of solar energy at less than $.02 per kWh, a US record. Battery power storage to ensure even power production and eliminate the need for peaking methane plants will add another $.015/kWh. The agreement significantly accelerates the city’s renewable power conversion target to 55% by 2025. The city is drawing up plans to develop other similar solar resources. https://cleantechnica.com/2019/06/30/los-angeles-8minute-solar-announce-25-year-ppa-at-under-2-cents-per-kwh/?utm_source=CleanTechnica+News&utm_campaign=d91743650e-Daily+Email+CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b9b83ee7eb-d91743650e-331994013
