1. Ads that promote the sales of such products as beef, tobacco, and SUVs work to shape behavior which contributes to the climate crisis. Should we try to reduce our destructive habits by controlling the content of advertising? https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/nov/27/rein-in-advertising-to-help-tackle-climate-crisis-report-urges

2. The NRDC highlights measures planned by the Biden administration to curb the fossil fuel industry in the US by removing its incentives and controlling its emissions. (Much more is planned by way of supporting the transition to a sustainable energy system.) https://www.nrdc.org/experts/bobby-mcenaney/bidens-climate-plan-can-extract-us-fossil-fuel-use

3. Hydrogen is expensive, difficult to store and transport, and dangerous at every stage. Still, it has promise in niche applications, especially where electrification is difficult, as in heavy transportation and manufacturing. Much of the enthusiasm for hydrogen can be traced to fossil fuel interests, as most hydrogen is made now from fossil fuels. Responsible investigation of hydrogen’s role generally involves that made with renewable energy, often by electrolysis of water—green hydrogen. Carbon Brief has a detailed, careful presentation of hydrogen’s promise and problems. https://www.carbonbrief.org/in-depth-qa-does-the-world-need-hydrogen-to-solve-climate-change?utm_campaign=Carbon%20Brief%20Daily%20Briefing&utm_content=20201130&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Revue%20Daily

4. Trains could be among the hydrogen applications. Alstom is filling an order for six in Italy, with options for eight more. https://cleantechnica.com/2020/11/30/alstom-to-supply-italys-first-6-hydrogen-trains/

5. Renewables have become attractive investments, especially when compared to fossil fuels. https://climatecrocks.com/2020/11/30/why-investors-are-loving-green-energy/

6. Bloomberg profiles the largest of the renewable energy corporations. https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2020-renewable-energy-supermajors/?srnd=green
