1. A study in Nature projects that with energetic measures we could restore the climate to its condition in 2015 by 2050. We would have to achieve the 1.5C emissions target, achieve 80% global compliance with the Planetary Health diet, reduce food waste by half, reduce water withdrawal by 30% irrigation and by 20% elsewhere, and improve our nutrient use in agriculture from 50% to 70-80%. We would need further measures after 2050 to bring all planetary systems within safe boundaries. https://phys.org/news/2025-05-global-environmental-pressures.html
2. Oysters capture carbon and remove pollutants with admirable efficiency. https://www.anthropocenemagazine.org/2025/05/more-evidence-that-oysters-are-a-blue-food-win-for-climate-and-coastal-pollution/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=more-evidence-that-oysters-are-a-blue-food-win-for-climate-and-coastal-pollution
3. At 1.5C polar ice sheets are likely to continue to melt and seas to rise. "To slow sea level rise from ice sheets to a manageable level requires a long-term temperature goal that is close to +1C, or possibly lower." Surely 1C and then lower should be our goal. https://phys.org/news/2025-05-sea-limited-15c.html
4. The Planetary Health Diet will give you less chance of getting cancer, less chance of dying of it if you do get it, a world worth living in, and other good things. If you are trying it, you know of another benefit seldom mentioned: it is a lot cheaper than the standard diet. It also serves to get you to and keep you at a weight you will probably like. https://www.thecooldown.com/sustainable-food/prevent-cancer-sustainable-diet-plant-based/
