1. The Potsdam Institute’s Stefan Rhamstorf explains in about 15 minutes of video why the tipping point toward the shutdown of the AMOC is likely in the next ten or twenty years. We can improve the odds with vigorous action, but we can no longer get the probability under 10%. https://thinc.blog/2025/11/18/amoc-update-odds-of-ocean-current-collapse-are-alarming/

2. China’s GAC Group has established the first solid battery plant. They expect to market them between 2027 and 2030, extending the range of electric vehicles to over 600 miles. https://electrek.co/2025/11/24/all-solid-state-ev-batteries-hit-milestone-promise-to-double-range/

3. Carbon Brief supplies an extensive account of Cop 30. While the required consensus on approved policies has meant that petrostates, notably the US, Russia, and Saudia Arabia, have for thirty years weakened or blocked agreement on such a basic measure as disengagement from fossil fuels, COP 30 undertook work toward non-consensual roadmaps on that subject and control of deforestation. The roadmaps will be under continuing discussion for presentation at next year’s COP in Turkey. Consensual agreement was found on support for adaptation and other significant matters. https://www.carbonbrief.org/cop30-key-outcomes-agreed-at-the-un-climate-talks-in-belem/?utm_source=cbnewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=2025-11-27&utm_campaign=Daily+Briefing+UK+budget+Australia+s+fossil-fuel+emissions+fall+Indonesia+floods
