<p>2. Finnish scientists have developed a way to make protein powder with water and electricity.  As it stands the process is slow and unproductive, but they hope to scale it up. The discovery comes as we are (re)discovering that increasing CO2 means decreasing

<p>3. A study by International Monetary Fund staff indicates that 6.5% of the world’s gross domestic product goes to subsidize fossil fuels—five trillion dollars a year. Subsidies are taken to include the true social costs of fossil fuel usage.

<p>4. The National Climate Assessment is due every four years. A draft of the science section, approved by the National Academy of Sciences, is ready.  It is an honest survey and awaits the approval of the Trump administration.

<p>5.  The US Department of Agriculture has suggested that its employees replace the words “climate change,” with “weather extremes.” References to reducing greenhouse gas emissions could be replaced with efforts to “build soil organic matter, increase nutrient
