 broken down to CO2 and other gasses by the end of a century). We have also been underestimating leakage during production and processing of gas, and have been using potentially inaccurate estimates of agricultural emissions. While these factors have been generally
 known for decades, more nearly correct figures need to be used for calculations if forecasts are to be meaningful. As it is, we are making policies based on weakened projections.

 must be ended prematurely if we are to have an even chance of limiting heating to 1.5C. A previous study of known fuel reserves found that 90% of known coal and 60% of known oil and gas much be left in the ground. The new study is said to underestimate methane
 and its effects, and not to include the production of petrochemicals.</span> <span style="font-size:12.0pt">
