1. Tucson Electric Power has signed a power purchase agreement for a 100-megawatt solar installation at less than 3 cents/kilowatt-hour (including the 30% tax credit). Such low costs have been reported elsewhere, but not before in the US, where the average commercial price of power is 10.5 cents/kwh. https://thinkprogress.org/arizona-utility-game-changing-solar-deal-8e7c0bcb093a

2. GPS stations in Greenland have detected enormous waves of water or slush which have moved through Rink Glacier to the ocean in seasons of heavy melting. The waves are a previously unknown mode of destabilization. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/greenland-glacier-melt-actually-warped-earths-crust/

3. The G7, except for the US, is united on the need for climate action and support for the Paris Agreement. http://econews.com.au/54338/g7-summit-acknowledges-split-with-us-on-climate-change/ Trump purports to imagine that American interests may not lie with climate action. If he finks on the US commitment, he may be joined by Russia. https://thinkprogress.org/first-paris-then-putin-b665fbc1ce31

4. In addition to maintaining its role as supplier of natural gas to Europe, Russia is interested in developing and selling half a trillion dollars of oil in Siberia and its waters. ?So is (or, at least, has been) Rex Tillerson, who negotiated the participatio of Exxon-Mobil (a member of the rascally ALEC) in the development, which awaits lifting of US sanctions. https://thinkprogress.org/putin-helped-trump-exxon-oil-deal-sanctions-6f169c4a4cd0 Trump, through Carter Page, may have been financially involved in a sale of 19% of Russia's state oil company Rosneft shares. http://www.businessinsider.com/carter-page-trump-russia-igor-sechin-dossier-2017-1 Russia is not revealing who bought those shares. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-russia-rosneft-privatisation-insight-idUSKBN1582OH

5. The chaos surrounding Trump and the question of Russian involvement in the politics of other nations may be understood as disruption generally attendant on the popping of the carbon bubble. https://cleantechnica.com/2017/05/28/trump-russia-chaos-tiny-preview-carbon-bubble-popping/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+IM-cleantechnica+%28CleanTechnica%29 Countering reactionary politics is our great challenge as we enter the transition to sustainable cultures.
