1. The mesopaper disc looks like the thing for filtering water on a small scale. It uses tiny ceramic and iron bits embedded in the bamboo fiber paper, works until it won't pass water through anymore, and is safely disposable in the trash. 5. New York's community solar program allows citizens to own or lease solar panels on centralized installations. The cost is much less than the usual rooftop array.
