1. The US-Israel attack on Iran is already disrupting the supply of oil and commercial methane. This Canadian take on the situation observes that the stability of renewable energy becomes ever more attractive. https://www.theenergymix.com/widening-middle-east-war-means-chaos-for-oil-and-gas-spotlights-stability-of-renewables-and-efficiency/?utm_source=The+Energy+Mix&utm_campaign=da5b626600-TEM_RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_dc146fb5ca-da5b626600-510008578
I have not seen an estimate of the impact of the war with Iran on the climate. I do not believe it is a factor in the planning of our activities. It should be. The war will have its legacy of suffering, and the greatest part of that is likely to be from damage to the climate.
2. An analysis of sea levels published in Nature finds that they have been underestimated by 30 cm (11.8 inches), with some areas 550-750 cm (18-24.6 feet) higher than previously thought. The higher levels suggest that future rise will be more traumatic than we had supposed. IPCC estimates of future rise require revision.
