1. Equatic has proven its system for removing carbon from the sea; Captura is moving beyond the pilots of its technology to accomplish the same ends. Vox looks at the prospects for employing marine carbon capture on a significant scale. You may register to read the story for free or sign up for a subscription. You could also choose to Google Equatic and Captura, but then you wouldn't get Vox's analysis. https://www.vox.com/climate/481882/ocean-marine-climate-co2-carbon-removal-acidification (I don’t know why the link isn’t live—try copying and pasting the url, or google the title at the end of the address. Best to register with Vox, I think—the story is an unusual and significant report on an important issue.)
  2. News coverage of climate change has dropped 38% globally in the past 5 years. The demand for climate action still remains about 80%. https://grist.org/language/global-heating-climate-news-drought-chaos/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=daily
3. Warren, RI, has a plan to relocate from areas threatened by sea level rise. They have identified an area with suitable elevation, now used for easily-acquired strip malls. Both the project and the difficulties the planners face hold lessons for the many communities now facing salinating water supplies and flooding infrastructure. https://www.sierraclub.org/sierra/2026-1-spring/feature/sea-level-rise-warren-rhode-island-higher-ground?suppress=true&utm_source=greenlife&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter
