Abajo les comparto una invitación a participar en un acto de memoria este otoño. No tiene que ver directamente ni con las humanidades digitales ni con las letras coloniales ni las del siglo XIX. Sin embargo, es un proyecto que radica en la colaboración entre académicos, activistas y la comunidad, y por lo tanto a lo mejor les puede interesar a algunos de los miembros de ADRELA. We would love for all of you to participate and encourage your students and colleagues to do so. The letters do not have to address the history of Comuna 13, but rather the idea is that each of us writes our testimonies, stories, and feelings about what has happened in Colombia and/or the world. (The letters can be written in different languages.)


We would like to encourage you to include “Letters to the wind, from the other shores of memory” as part of your class curricula for next semester. In the attached files and videos (in English and Spanish), you will find the invitation to participate in this event as well as the historical context of the date that is commemorated.

On April 9, 2022, someone from Comuna 13 will respond to your letter.

Nos encantaría que todos ustedes participaran y que animaran a sus estudiantes y colegas a hacerlo. Las cartas no tienen que tratar el tema de la Comuna 13, la idea es que cada uno de nosotros escribamos nuestros testimonios, historias y sentimientos frente a lo que ha pasado en Colombia y el mundo. Las cartas pueden escribirse en distintos idiomas.


Quisiéramos animarlos a que incluyan “Correspondencias al viento, desde la otra orilla del recuerdo” como parte de sus currículos de clase para el próximo semestre. En los archivos y videos adjuntos (en inglés y español) encontrarán la invitación a participar en este evento, así como el contexto histórico de la fecha que se conmemora.
