2. China has committed in writing to its previously announced climate targets. Culminating in carbon neutrality by 2060, they are still inadequate to limit heating to 1.5C. In the past China has reversed the usual national strategy by underpromising and overdelivering. They seem to be prepared by their technological development and support of renewables to cut their reliance on coal more drastically than they have proposed.
