2. Finnish scientists have developed a way to make protein powder with water and electricity.  As it stands the process is slow and unproductive, but they hope to scale it up. 3. A study by International Monetary Fund staff indicates that 6.5% of the world's gross domestic product goes to subsidize fossil fuels-five trillion dollars a year. 4. The National Climate Assessment is due every four years. A draft of the science section, approved by the National Academy of Sciences, is ready. 5.  The US Department of Agriculture has suggested that its employees replace the words "climate change," with "weather extremes." References to reducing greenhouse gas emissions could be replaced with efforts to "build soil organic matter, increase nutrient use efficiency."
